Roxette's music is not "oldies"

No matter what the genre label might have said on iTunes, I put my foot down, well stamp it hard and declare "that, NO!, Roxette's music is far from Oldies!!!" Dadgummit!
The 80s are not Oldies. I mean, is this old?:

I remember when I realized that the "oldies" station was now 60s and 70s instead of 50s and 60s. That was weird. I don't think "oldies" should designate anything past 1975 or so, at the most. To me it connotes a very specific style of music.

It's just that we're old. If it makes you feel any better iTunes keeps classifying my bluegrass as country (retch) which makes me rather angry. :(

P.S. I agree with Foxyj!

oh there is no way that the 80's music should be considered oldies!

I don't know. After seeing a pink shirt just like the Tears for Fears singer worn by a guy on campus, it is official that the 80s clothing style is back and does that qualify the 80s as oldies? I'm holding out for no, but I may not be able to deny it if I see a return of his ponytail mullet.

If it makes you feel better, I was born in the late 80s, so I'm not exactly old, and I totally agree with foxyj. I grew up listening to 50s and 60s (and some 70s) as 'Oldies' and that's what I associate with the concept.
