I would just like to point out that there is a countdown on my blog. The seconds are ticking their way toward National Grammar Day. I know, you're just as giddy as I am about the logophilic possibilities. My students will be ecstatic.
*Lest you think I'm grammatically prescriptivist, I also think we should celebrate grammar in all its non-standard beauty.

This is indeed great! I didn't know there was such a thing...
I love you! Didn't even know there was such a day... thank you for teaching me something today! :)
Don't you think this is a little histrionic? Personally I find grammar to be rather soporific, but that is, in part, because I have more of a penchant for the dialectical relationship between the heterogeneous lexicons of romance languages and their common etymologies.
That was my attempt to be snooty, it's one of the requirements for getting a PhD. in the humanities. Did it work? National grammar day lives! I miss teaching.
That is funny. And a little weird--but great all at the same time.
