Hawt

I unintentionally made things very awkward in my class yesterday. We were talking about how Portuguese has a nifty trick at describing people in certain semantic situations. So I did a literal translation of a bit of it:
"My mom is with heat."
Yipes. Awkward.
So I correct it with what Portuguese speakers mean:
"My mom is hot."

Oh man.

MAN! That's an awesome error....wish I could have been there for the red-faced laugh-age. ;-)

Not to mention the looks of shocked horror on the faces of half the class.
I can't wait to revisit it on the DVD in Heaven.

HA!! Kind of like the time I was translating and asked the lady if she was caliente. I was supposed to find out whether or not she was warm enough in her heater-less home. Oops.

I hope she didn't think you were coming on to her!
¿Caliente? ¡Brillante!
