The continuing saga of my presidency

So we all know what my first move as president would be. (By the way, I'm constitutionally eligible in 2 elections.)
If we believe the dream that I had last night, we now will know my strategy for fighting terrorism:

Somehow I end up playing in the softball game. Someone tried to convince me to use another mitt. And I was like, uh-uh, either I play with my mitt, or I won't play well. (Come to think of it, I wonder if there's a hidden mitt message political joke that my mind was playing with.)

Why play softball? Well, this particular terrorist cell is willing to not get all terroristy if my side wins the game. If ever I've had an incentive to play hard and get my team to play well. So I'm directing traffic. One person snags a grounder in center-right field and decides to throw the ball to first instead to the cut-off at second. Near disaster!

Anway, we get to the final out of the game, we're up 3 runs to 2. They have runners on 2nd and 3rd and there are 2 outs. We have to get a stop here. We need the final out. I'm playing second base and the ball is ripped my way. I mean, I know that it's hit hard and everything, but dreams slow down and allow you to sort of have a mental soliloquy, you know? So I'm there thinking, "You've never been good I'd diving on the ball field. Remember when you broke your left hand? Oh, yeah. That was bad, wasn't it. But, you know, this time, I'm feeling like really good. The ball's hit to my left, my mitt side. I'm really going to be able to dive to get this ball. I'll stop those terrorists!" So then I go to make a mad dive at the ball, saving myriad people from a terrorist attack, and then
BAM
My dive stops at about a 75º angle because my left hand smacks something:
The daybed's metal frame.

This story relays some very important information:

  1. I have been watching too much NCIS.
  2. I am EXTREMELY excited for baseball season. (Opening Day: April 6!)
  3. I am prone to playing baseball in my sleep. Julie Rae already witnessed this phenomenon when we were kids as she watched me pitch, hit, run the bases and score a run one morning at like 2am.

This might only be amusing to me, Scottie, Skylark, Steve & Professor Stallings

In fact, this might bring back old nightmares to former roommates of mine. Scottie showed this to me a while ago, and I'm going to be nice and share it with you all. Don't worry; it's not supposed to make sense, sorta.

So, if you're all about pseudo-operas with minimalist music from the 1970s, this is just for you.

*I said, Chris who is Einstein? He said, I don't know.
And to only add to the oddity of this post:
Here's a very funny song. And here are the lyrics. Some goofy musician saw the same documentary that I did.

Robert Wilson was the stage director and Philip Glass the composer. Robert Wilson is a nutter.

Yummy food

A couple of Sundays ago, Brian and Julie Rae came down to Spanish Fork to cook us a wonderful meal of ginger chicken,
bulgogi,
kimchee, rice and salad.
(Notice Laurel's Ricks College T-shirt. Forever Ricks!)
Man oh man it was tasty. Then for dessert, Mom made some amazing pies. Peaches and cream and Strawberry:

It was a tasty day.
I also was surprised by a new man in my life, to accompany the other one I'd already received from my sister:

My paradigm of self is teetering on the edge of destruction

Who on earth am I?

I've been struggling with my idea of who I am. I mean, I can't seem to get enough of Mahi Mahi. I ate sushi 3 out of 4 days a few weeks ago. And why not the fourth? Because it was Sunday and I didn't have any sushi in the fridge.
When it's a mere 46º outside, I'm like, "Great! It's so warm I don't need a coat or sweater at all!" 46º?!?!? Today it was in the mid 30s and I was fine with my long-sleeved T-shirt walking to and from my car to my class.
And, something that blows Wendy's paradigm of me, I love doing yoga, however poorly I do it.
And guess how many times I woke up last night in the middle of the night. My normal 35? No. Zero. Wha-huh? I slept thru the whole night. When I woke up this morning, I figured that my mom must've dropped something into my food, a very high-powered something. The tranquilizers that a doctor gave me once didn't even work. Well, whatever it was, I hope I get some more of it tonight.
And we won't even get into my wearing of slacks, dressier shirts, makeup at times, or the fact that I usually don't have my hair in a pony tail unless I'm at home, **excepting today**.

What kind of hot-blooded, insomniac tom-boy of an ichthyophobe am I?

**Now lest you think that I am no longer me, when I see fish in their natural state, I still get a shiver down my spine and have to brace myself sometimes. I still prefer 95º weather. I fully don't expect to sleep thru the night tonight. Don't wanna get my hopes up. And today I'm wearing layered T-shirts and jeans for a change and brought a ball cap in case I want to don it later on.

But, yes, my paradigm of self is on the brink of a minor explosion, I believe.

boring?

I didn't know how to say "treadmill" in Portuguese, so I looked it up on my favorite online translator. This is what I found:
monotonous work? yes.

ok, ok, I know that this is another meaning of treadmill, but it's darn funny.

And for those of you wondering how to say treadmill? esteira elétrica

Same day

This probably won't mean a lot to many people out there, but I just found out today that the Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis and I were born on the same day. I find it extremely weird. I don't know why I thought this was so bizarre, but I did.
Huh. I'm older than I thought.

As a side note, the World Baseball Classic is going right now. Ahh, competitive baseball a month early.
And, next week in conference championship week in NCAA basketball, then on to March Madness.
And, the Jazz are on 10 game win streak.

I love March.

Yellow Birds

They show the yellow birds in this latest clip. Also, for pretty much the first time, they're hinting at the fight between Draco and Harry. Sectum Sempra?
